Aussie Drain use specialized Mastenbroek Drainage Machines, equipped with laser guided depth control systems and designed to dig, lay and backfill drainage-lines all in one operation. A Subsurface Drainage system consists of corrugated slotted pipes, installed up to 3.5 m deep at even spacing covered with gravel, coarse sand or a specialised textile filter. With the installation of Subsurface Drainage, we can artificially lower the water table to a depth well below the rootzone.
Depending on the soil texture, mole drains can be used in addition to increase the drainage. A sandy soil needs a different approach than heavy clay. Also the existence of impermeable layers or impermeable clays will have an effect on the design of the right drainage system. Before a Subsurface Drainage system is designed, Aussie Drain evaluates the site to know the characteristic of the soil. This includes a topographical survey as well as a soil survey, in order to establish depth and drain spacing. We can do this by digging test holes, which can be done by auger, backhoe or probe. A design, plan and quotation are all a part of the service provided.
